Week Four: Nourish Yourself

Hello darlings!

How is it going? This week, I’d love to share our reflection questions first and foremost as they’re top of mind and questions I’m asking myself as I continue to practice alongside you…

Contemplations I think we could all benefit from as we learn to prioritize the nourishment and honouring of our truest Self.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What feelings come up for me around prioritizing my own needs & nourishment?

  2. What do I typically do when I feel I “don’t have enough time”? For any number of things/reasons…

  3. What is my experience around saying “no” or potentially “disappointing” others?

  4. What stories do I tell myself when I consider doing less or taking a break?

  5. When was the last time I truly relaxed?

  6. What is my body telling me right now?

  7. What is my relationship with change and doing things differently?

Just a reminder that you are glorious, precious, enough, loved and beautiful exactly as you are — always, and no matter what.

What I’ve been finding and seeing in new ways lately is that when I’m truly honouring and prioritizing my own needs, tending thoughtfully to this inner-knowing, to this temple of Self and precious body vessel of mine — I naturally feel much more full of energy to generously share and shine outwards of my magic with community, clients, loved ones, and those all around me.

I had a dear one encourage me recently to “fill my own cup” and what a beautiful, loving reminder this was. So in case you need a permission slip, here it is :) You deserve your own loving energy, care, priority, time and attention to fill back up on your own sweet medicine. It is such a gift.

I have also been reminded of the power of what and how we feed ourselves day in and day out in recent months. As a food lover and culinary nutritionist, my relationship with food has always been central to my life. However, living and cooking at an Ayurvedic yoga centre for the past several months has, once again, shown me the power of food to transform and heal our bodies and entire state of being.

In working with others around food + nourishment in various ways, I’ve seen how we need to shift different things when it comes to nourishing ourselves at different times and phases of life.

Being open to this change, being willing to make a change, can sometimes be exactly what’s needed to feel different, to feel better, to change our very relationship with and experience of life.

Because, in so many ways (physical, energetic) - we literally are what we eat. When we truly grasp the power of this, things begin to change in our life, beginning with us.

I know I’ve experienced this many times, over and over, as I have shifted what and how I’ve been nourishing myself. We eat typically 3 times a day — day in and day out — so this is one of the simplest and yet most profound ways to make shifts in how you’re feeling.

I don’t know about you, but this time of the year has food and cozy comfort on the mind as we begin to ease into holiday-time! It’s a great time to observe and reimagine your relationship with food since it’s so front and centre.

This week, I wanted to share some of my favourite autumn recipes with you from over the years - the perfect blend of delicious, deeply nourishing and nutrient-dense/healing foods. You will not feel in any way deprived eating these. Sometimes, we just need to try something different to feel different 🌀

For those of you who are following along with the immersion, you’ll find your cookbook below!
