A simple inquiry for you to sit with this month’s new moon cycle.

What brings me peace? What brings me back into my heart?

I have been guiding deep relaxation sessions for retreat guests and community members at a yoga centre here in B.C. the past few months. It’s such a joy, gift and honour to support folks in prioritizing rest and nurturing themselves.

I observe how they enter into a class or retreat weekend, and how they emerge ~ a little softer, a little gentler with themselves and others, more at peace, more at ease, a lot closer to their true nature. A sweet relaxed smile often on their face. Full of gratitude.

This process of unravelling from life’s busyness, to-dos, and stressors reminds me of a Chinese Proverb:

“Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are."

It’s a remembering.

And we must make space and time to remember who we really are. To pause amidst our busy lives and let ourselves simply be ~ apart from who we think we are or should be ~ connecting again to the very centre of our being. Our own precious, tender, powerful heart. Our true nature that never changes.

This New Moon is a perfect time to assess and perhaps begin releasing the places where we are tightly constricted around an idea of who we *think* we should be or need to be.

Where are you doing this in your life? In a way that doesn’t actually honour your heart’s truth?

What is true when you drop out of the minds endless stories or “shoulds” and into the vast space and inner knowing of your heart?

What actually feels good in your body?

When do you feel most relaxed? What are you doing/not doing?

Who are you surrounded by, or not?

What would happen if you listened, and let yourself relax?

What fears do you have around this? Are they true?

This new moon, I hope you can create the space to listen to a deeper part of you. What is your heart’s deepest longing in this moment?

Remember, loving and honouring you is how you also love and honour all of existence.

I love you. And wish you so much peace and ease. Knowing that it is safe to relax and just be. Nothing to prove. Just being your own beautiful self.
